I.aM.mE: Avengers of Xtreme Illusions (AXI)

Last week, Shawn Welling, released a video about his upcoming project: Avengers of Xtreme Illusion. This series will highlight each member of Season 6 Champions, I.aM.mE., in dramatic and vivid stories, told through dance.

Some say it reminds them of LXD, others say it reminds them of Movement Lifestyle. However, Shawn Welling promises to deliver a high production product, unlike any of it's predecessors. Keep an eye out for this.

Here's a video of Pacman, describing the new project:

Can I Have My Fries Seasoned?

KoopaTV | Dance Clip of the Day: "Quick - The Drill"

Today's episode of KoopaTV brings us all the way out to Norway, where the world famous dance crew, Quick, made a very special tribute to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. They incorporate one of the most famous routines performed by the King of Pop, himself: The Drill.

Here's a link to Quick's official Youtube channel, TheQuickStyle. They are easily, one of the most amazing group of dancers I have ever seen.

I always find myself comparing them to a Norwegian version of Sh*tKingz:

Last Minute Notice: Help Bboy Steelo

Hey guys,
I know not everyone is a bboy, but here's a great cause that I felt the need to just pass along.
Bboy Steelo of the Groovaloos, LXD, and Killa4nia, one of the most respected names in bboying recently underwent surgery for a ruptured brain aneurysm.  Thankfully he is in recovery, but he currently can't work to support his family.  The bboy community has come together and has a massive outpouring of support for him, ranging from Jinjo crew donating 10% of their R16 winnings to his family, to the Groovaloos hosting a Groove night in support of his family. (Video by Pacrim of the event here)
Now the BboySpot.com is donating 100% of their webstore sales TODAY to his family. So go buy something from their store, be it a dope shirt, hat, headspin beanie, or whatever, to support this cause.
Click through for more details how to donate to the cause

So please, I urge you, if you haven't already, to support not only a great bboy, but a father and his family as well as they go through tough times.

KoopaTV | Dance Clip of the Day: "Finger Food"

Today's episode of KoopaTV takes us back to New York, and introduces another new style to this series: Flexing (Bone Breaking). I won't hesitate to say that I was personally never a huge fan of this element of dance. But, this video, courtesy of Yakfilms, displays this strange and often misunderstood art, in a very entrancing light.

Personally, my favorite part is DEFINITELY the section in the second half of the video. Enjoy!

A Perfect World B-boy Association

This videos gives an amazing snapshot, of where the bboy community currently stands, and what he believes needs to be done, for the culture to evolve.

World renowned, Bboy Dyzee (Supernaturalz Crew), has recently uploaded this video to his main youtube account, DyzeeSupernaturalzzz.

In this video, Dyzee speaks about implementing grand-scale renovations to the bboy community. Many might laugh, and consider this as a joke. HOWEVER, Bboy Dyzee, previously created a similar system for more structured judging in battles. That system is now used in huge International Bboy Championships, such as R-16 Korea.

He raises many great points, but do you believe his method is the 'correct' way of going about this? Is the integrity of the community compromised at all, when put in this sort of organized system? Please share your thoughts.

Today's post is all about staying and looking cool on these hot summer days. It comes from season 3 finalists, The Beat Freaks- Lady Jules and Teresa Espinosa. These two fine looking ladies give us a couple pointers on dance moves around a swimming pool:

Please e-mail us if you have any In Case U Missed It videos you want posted..... or any other news for that matter- it's kind of slow!

KoopaTV | Dance Clip of the Day: "Kyle Hanagami"

Today's episode takes us back to California, as well as Contemporary. In Movement Lifestyle's newest video, Kyle Hanagami's choreography to Adele's "Someone Like You", captures some of the very real and painful emotions within "love":

Kyle Hanagami stretches his imagination beyond choreography in order to capture emotion in film with his first concept video.
This piece combines elements of contemporary with jazz, funk, and hip-hop. A real work of art.

Legen...(wait for it)...dary Hip Hop | Flashdance and Rock Steady

For the inaugural post of this series, it is appropriate that it be regarding the legendary clip that helped bring bboying and hip hop dance to the mainstream.
In the 1983 dance film Flashdance featured a short, yet powerful scene that would change hip hop dance worldwide forever.  Featuring the legendary Rock Steady Crew, this scene inspired dancers around the world to start bboying. There are some reports of people paying to see the whole movie multiple times. Not for the story, but for these few crucial scenes to get a better sense of where to start.

If you have a suggestion for a Legen...(wait for it)...dary hip hop (or other dance) video, please email them to bloggingabdc@gmail.com!  (No guarantees... after all we need to keep things legendary)

Featuring world-renowned dancers such as Bboys Thesis, MN Joe, Tyquan, and child powermove-prodigy, Bboy One, this classy cover of Claude Debussy's "Reverie" is a beautiful display of the evolution of art.
