KoopaTV | Dance Clip of the Day: Junior Boogie Judge's Showcase

Hey there! Today's clip takes us to Vancouver, Canada. In this episode of KoopaTV, we head out to the Last One Stands event, the biggest battle in Vancouver. Junior Boogie, one of the judges for the hip hop battles at this event, performs his judge's showcase in front of the Vancouver crowd.

His showcase combines a dope popping flow with some great b-boy footwork, and he transitions between the two styles very smoothly. This is only part of his showcase, which will leave you wanting to see much more. Check it out:

KoopaTV | Dance Clip of the Day: "Lovestoned"

Hallo! Today we're moving it to Germany! This episode of KoopaTV pays a visit to Dance Energy studio, where CJ Zamani filmed this soulful piece.

I'm always a fan of smooth R&B pieces, and CJ's execution was definitely on point! Enjoy the piece:

Odd news of the day: Police apprehend 'disconcerting' JabbaWockeeZ 'tribute' dancer

From the Huffington Post:  "A mime dancing at an intersection in a Chicago suburb alarmed residents enough for police to be called to the scene Tuesday...The dancer in question was Buffalo Grove resident Sorin Dumitru, 19, originally from Romania, UPI reports. Dumitru said his dancing, and his white gloves and mask, were a tribute to San Diego dance group Jabbawockeez, winner of the first season of "America's Best Dance Crew."

"According to a police report, "Officers located a subject that was performing his pantomime. He was advised that some residents apparently find mimes disconcerting and he agreed to go home."

KoopaTV | Dance Clip of the Day: "Flow One Three"

Hallo! We're flying all the way out to Holland! Today's episode of KoopaTV takes us to the Flow One Three 2011 bboy Jam. One battle, between Seven Commandoz & Body Carnival was especially dope.

Bboy Differ (Korea) & Menno (Holland) represented for Seven Commandoz, but Bgirls Ayumi & Narumi (Japan) held it DOWN for the ladies. Body Carnival is easily one of my favorite Bgirl crews, and this is why:

Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival

Hi guys - I know it's been a while. But I've got news that brought me back for anyone in the Philadelphia Area who likes watching dance. The annual Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival returns with an impressive lineup of films, including some related to hip hop dance specifically.

First up, tonight at 7pm, is the opening night featuring "Among Bboys," a documentary on the tale of the Hmong bboys. Not only does it talk about the social struggles of this particular minority group, it also highlights how the hip hop movement has positively impacted them. Director Chris Woon will be in attendance at the event, which includes a bboy demonstration.

Next up, we have a film that strikes me as a combination of Step-Up and Planet Bboy. Saigon Electric tells the tale of hip hop dancers in modern-day Saigon. This film actually premiered back in September on the West Coast, with Poreotics and Kaba Modern being guest stars. Click here to check out the interview with Poreotics on why you should watch this film. This will be aired on Friday night at 9pm, with director Stephane Sauger scheduled to attend.

Finally, in the short films showcase Saturday afternoon, anyone who loves ABDC will see some familiar faces. Steve and Hirano from Quest Crew (ABDC3) and Yuri Tag from Kaba Modern (ABDC1), take the three lead roles in "My Name is Seven," a tale of the shy guy learning some dance moves to get the girl from the alpha male. Here are some clips of Steve and Hirano, Yuri, and Marie Poppins cyphering behind the scenes

Visit the Film Festival's website at [http://www.phillyasianfilmfest.org/] to find locations and order tickets. I'll definitely be at these events, so hope to see you there!

In case you missed it: Frost (Supreme Soul) "Krawling"

Antoine "Frost" Troupe (member of ABDC Season 2's Supreme Soul) goes solo to Linkin Park's "Krawling". Thanks for the tip, Greg!

KoopaTV | Dance Clip of the Day: "The Lost Ones"

Hey! We're sticking around Cali! Today's KoopaTV takes us into the creative minds of Bryan Tanaka and David Moore, who created this concept short.

The visual effects combined with the dope dancing really makes this a powerful package. It reminds me of something the LXD would do. Check out Bryan's Youtube Channel, where the vid was posted to see some of his other clips:
