KoopaTV | Dance Clip of the Day: "Remote Kontrol"

Hey! Today we're headed over to Georgia! This episode brings us to an amazing short film, featuring the amazing Remote Kontrol Crew: iGlide, Chibi, and Nonstop.

These 3 dancers have made quite the impact on the dance scene. First blowing up, with their performance on So You Think You Can Dance, and then putting out one of the most viral dance videos ever, with Nonstop's "Pumped Up Kicks" video.

Congrats on what I assume will become another viral video:
Thanks JabbaJake and Ninjaboi for this amazing clip!

KoopaTV | Dance Clip of the Day: "Panlong - The Water Dragon"

Hey! Today we're going down to Florida! While we have seen stuff from I.aM.mE post-season, they noticabley have been short one member. Philip "Pacman" Chbeeb has been in Miami along with several other dancers filming Step Up 4. However, he has found time to create a concept video that matches his element of water: Embodying Panlong, the Chinese water dragons.

The style he displays in this video almost strikes me as a cross between contortion breakin & popping illusions. See more of Pacman's inspiring work at his Youtube Channel.

According to his video: "I attempted with both the music and movement to embody the entanglement, fluidity, and strength of this specific type of dragon."

Thank you Ninjaboi, for the write up! UPDATE: Thanks to MercerMZ who also tipped me off about this amazing video!

If you guys remember the crew packages from each week from Season 6, Instant Noodles Member Chuck Maa's mother was battling breast cancer. With the support of a great crew, he was able to do well on the show despite this tragedy. However, they never forgot.

Ulimate Showdown of ABDC Superiority Round Five

After this just one more round to go. Today's match-ups help determine who is going for what place.

In what many would have hoped would have been the final match-up for season six never got to happen. However, it is happening here. Who will the fans rally behind more, I.aM.mE or ReQuest?

It is no surprise that both champions from the middle seasons would be here but can We are Heroes gather enough support to stop the juggernaut that is Quest?

Two crews that many folks feel should have won face off in a Fanny Pak versus Blueprint showdown.

The alpha and omega seasons meet with two of the most exciting crews to grace the show throw-down, but who will be left standing? JabbaWockeeZ or Instant Noodles?

Please follow the links provided and watch each performance. Afterwords, vote for which one you feel was the better routine.

PREVIOUS ROUND RESULTS: It was no surprise that the ultimate clutch performance given by Quest managed to sweep Jabba under the rug. Again not much of a surprise that Season Six champs, I.aM.me easily took out Canadian dance legends Blueprint Cru. It was surprising how close that We are Heroes were able to just edge out Instant Noodles. However, the big shocker was that frontrunners, Fanny Pak fell to the world class skills of ReQuest.

Ulimate Showdown of ABDC Superiority Round Four

Today is where the top eight jockey for position. From this point on no crew will be eliminated. Crews either advance to the top four or fight to receive their rank.
The two crews that were brought back into the contest will final round when we determine ranks one through ten.

First up is I.aM.me facing off against Blueprint Cru. Both are known for their amazing visual styles but which one will win the fan's favor?

Fanny Pak and ReQuest are both fabulous but in an all out battle of flair whose flag flies higher?

We are Heroes finds a worthy foe in Instant Noodles. Though which flavor of Asian dance style will the voters prefer?

In what looks to be a legendary showdown of beloved champs who will come out on top? Original champs JabbawockeeZ or Quest?

Please follow the links provided and watch each performance. Afterwords, vote for which one you feel was the better routine.

PREVIOUS ROUND RESULTS: It was a hard fought battle for the eight crews eliminated in round three to get a chance to come back. One by one they fell and slowly Phunk Phenomenon was granted a place in the top ten. With that Beat Freaks and Fly Khicks fought a fierce battle for the last spot. With the timer running out, Beat Freaks edged out the Fly Khicks to move on leaving them behind.

Video: Can (Poreotics) in new JustKiddingFilms - "Cuz I'm Asian"

Here is the newest video from the JustKiddingFilms Youtube Channel. In this latest skit, Can (Poreotics) plays the 'talented' asian dancer:

Dance@Hero - Japanese Dance Show

So Koopa's DOTD video last Thursday got me interested in the show that was being featured, so I went and did some research. It's a fairly interesting show that you guys might like. Apologies for any information that may be inaccurate - I got it from reading translated versions of the website found here: [danceahero.jp/]

Basically, Dance@Hero is a street dance show inspired by ABDC. The basic format is that ten crews compete over three rounds, and are numerically judged by their three judges on a variety of factors, including technical and artistic factors. The top five ranked crews per round receive 100, 80, 60, 40, and 20 "Hero Points" per round. In addition, the routines will be posted to Youtube, Facebook, and a Japanese version of Youtube called Nico Nico Douga. The top videos and the top fan pages for each crew will get 50, 40, 30, 20, and 10 "eb Points" added to their Hero Points, for a possible total of 300 HP and 150WP, or 450 Points total.

The crews had their first round of competition end on the 17th. The next two rounds will be on October 22nd and November 18th. As of right now, the rankings are as follows (click through on each link to the video)

100 points: Time Machine (featuring U-Min)
80 points: Twiggz Family (Japanese Branch of ABDC6 crew Street Kingdom)
60 points: Vigorous Ladies
40 points: Beat Buddy Boi
20 points: Melange
0 points: Area Rock Styler; Knuckle Bear; Saturday Player; Team Black Starz; Victoria

This looks like some legitimate talent that could definitely give crews on ABDC a run for their money. Let us know what you think about them in the comments below! You can subscribe to get updated to each round of videos at the Youtube channel (and help your favorite crew win) at [DANCEHEROjp]

Video: Joel 'Knucklehead' Turman (Street Kingdom) wins Coke Zero Dance contest with "Toe Tappy"

According to All Street Dance, the winner of the Coke Zero Dance Contest is Joel 'Knucklehead' Turman, a member of Strret Kingdom (ABDC Season 6). The contest asked dancers to create a catchy new dance; Turman's entry is called "The Toe Tappy".

According to the article, dance movie director John Chu (who worked with Coke to create and judge the contest) stated: "We saw so many amazing moves and enjoyed crowd-sourcing the dance so much that we're raising the stakes to see how people will put their unique spin on the 'Toe Tappy' to take it to the next level.' So, Coke Zero will follow up the first contest with another, asking people to submit videos of their interpretation of the Toe Tappy. For more information, visit CokeZero.com/MakeitPossible
