Video: Parris Goebel [ReQuest, Royal Family] - Proudly Odd

Dedicated to the Bold, Brave, & Bizzarre, here's the latest production from Parris Goebel (ABDC 6's ReQuest). At the young age of 20, Parris has already accomplished so much success in her dance career, and it still continues to flourish. The video description notes that the speed of the choreography had not been technically altered in any way.

Official Body Rock 2012 Videos

Even though we posted the uStream of Body Rock a while back, we've been waiting for these HD videos to make this post.

First up (below) are the winners and ABDC6 alumni, Request.  Simply dope.  Everything from grimy to sexy, along with a great message as well. And they do it with less than half the members of any other crew.

Second place went to Academy of Villains. This crew can't seem to get a break, but man are they consistently top notch.  Led by Pharside, with a theme that they bring to life, as well as probably the dopest closer I've ever seen, AOV represents the Bay Area to the fullest.  Skool District all day.

Third place goes to Choreo Cookies. Always bringing a great theme, here they show their love for the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Does anyone else think they'd fit right in with the Cirque du Soleil Show?

The editors would also like to give a shoutout to some other crews that performed.

ABDC Alum Kaba Modern had a pretty dope routine. I particularly enjoyed the first half, and Kaba Modern shows why they're considered ABDC Royalty.

Another Bay Area crew, the Company is one of our favorite crews to perform here. They really evoke an emotion, without having to go over the top, all while being crisp, technical, and all around excellent dancers.

We also have to give props to 220, who also brought a clever prop use to the stage, with their headphones really matching up to how they use the music. It's subtle, but clever and entertaining at the same time.

Finally, last but not least, GRV brings one of the most touching pieces we've seen in a while. It's dedicated to their fellow member Sharon Higgins, who passed away last year. The video opens with a dedication to her, and it ends with probably the most touching and at the same time impressive spoken-word choreography we've seen.

Who rocked your body this Body Rock? Let us know below! As more videos come out, we'll highlight them as well.

NAOTV Episode 12: Week of the Polyswag

Hello there BBDC! Polynesia was all over the place this week, with two videos by Parris Goebel making it onto this episode and a third video hailing from the Hawaiian Islands. Let's kick things off with Parris's class at the ML studio. This video was uploaded by Lil Bigz of Guam's Empire Kidz.

Next we have "Warm Up". This video was filmed at Palace Dance Studio and features ReQuest Dance Crew as well as members of Misfits.

And our last video from the wonderful world of Polynesia is Hazmat's combo to "Mr. Boombastic" by Shaggy. Still on his 90's vibe, Hazmat looks to be sticking with positivity in his pieces this new year.

---Other Dope Videos from This Week---

Beat Buddy Boi (2nd SEASON ROUND1) - Last season's Dance@Hero runner ups returned for the second season of this show. Judging from this performance, I say they are clear favorites for the win.

Tight Eyez "We Wear Black" - This man is a revolutionary. He's already made his mark by co-founding krump, and he continues to be a force in the street dance community by introducing us to krump-ography. It will be interesting to see where the movement goes from here.

Rusty Guinto - I've been meaning to show you guys the style of glowstringing for a while, but until now I haven't seen a good, recently uploaded video of it.

TAKE ME AWAY | DUBSTEP - Do I even need to say anything? Nonstop is amazing and his dancing speaks for itself.

Video: ReQuest on "This is Street Dance"

From Yowzahful: "Here's a clip of ReQuest after they flew to LA For the ABDC 6 Auditions. They were on a show called "This Is Street Dance" and performed their ABDC 6 audition routine... You've probably seen the clip before but this is a better HD clip. Just thought you might want to post it on your page as inspiration for the ABDC 7 hopefuls preparing to audition for ABDC this year."  From Youtube. Thanks Yowzahful!

Video: Parris (ReQuest) - "Roman in Moscow"

Parris (member of ABDC6's ReQuest) goes black & white & fierce with "Roman in Moscow". I wonder if we'll get more international crews for America's Best Dance Crew's Season 7 -- if ReQuest had been from the U.S. I think they would have gone much further with the ABDC voters. From BGPOPA Youtube. Thanks for the tip, Taff1013!

7th day of Crewmas: hidden talents of ReQuest, ICONic Boyz, Phunk Phenomenon, We Are Heroes

For the seventh day of Crewmas, the HouseofCrews couldn't come up with any swans a-swimming, so they asked crews about their other talents. ReQuest Crew, ICONic Boyz, Phunk Phenomenon, We are Heroes, Ringmasters, SGBM, and others. There's a lot of singers, as well as some strippers, rappers, knitters, jugglers, and an on-command farter (guess which crew!)
