Ulimate Showdown of ABDC Superiority Bonus Round: Rise from the Grave!!

Feeling sad that one of your favorites didn't make it to the top eight? Well don't worry there is still hope yet! I would like to advance two more crews to the end so that we will have a top ten instead of a top eight.


To do this I propose a little game called Hurt and Heal: Rise from the grave!

Rules are easy to follow:
--Each crew has 10 points, for a total number of 80 points in play. Your job is to take points away from routines or crews you don't like and give them to a crew you do like.
--Each hour you make take away one point from a crew and then give a point to a crew. Hence you hurt a crew to heal a crew.
--Also you must wait for someone else to make a move before you make make another one. Even if you get your vote in at the last second for an hour.

--To play a round you do it like so:
example
Crew A 10+1=11
Crew B 15-1=14
Crew C 5

Just copy the list from the previous voter and add and subtract from it. In addition to speed things along, once a crew gets to 40 points they automatically move to the next round. In addition, any crew that reaches 0 point are eliminated from the contest and cannot be revived.

We will go back to the normal contest on Monday at 12 noon. Play nice!

IBE 2011: Illusion of Exist vs. Soul Mavericks

I already posted this as part of one bigger IBE post, but I felt it would be fair to give this B-boy Champs qualifier its own post like the other one's got. In this video, we have Illusion of Exist facing off against Soul Mavericks in one of three qualifying battles for the UK Bboy Championships. Illusion of Exist were able to fend off Soul Mavericks' numerous routines with their individual skills and earned themselves a spot at the UK Bboy Championships on October 16th.

Bonus points to whoever can spot the breaker who competed at the 2011 World Hip Hop Dance Championships.

Has Jabba's evolution of street dance routine aged well enough to hold it's own against the techinal and powerful precision of the middle of Beat Freaks magic routine? Hey! Today's episode of KoopaTV takes us back to Cali! This video has been going around the past couple of days, and not only is the choreography really dope, but the story behind it is SO SWEET that we just had to share it with you.

Based in Walnut, California, Marvels Dance Company is a juniors hip hop dance team that competes locally (click here for WOD 2011 Family Night). On September 26th, co-director Jamin Love proposed to long time girlfriend and co-director Valerie Albania. Of course, being a dancing couple, he had to do it in an appropriate way possible. Hence, he got a bunch of his friends and proposed flash-mob style, to Bruno Mars's song "Marry You."

Congratulations to Jamin and Valerie on their future life together!

Today we have our most unpredictable round of the four. First off is Static Noyze, who barely beat Season Two champs SuperCr3w in a tight race, facing off against the last b-boys standing Instant Noodles. Will their humorous Beieber routine be enough to beat the grace and passion of SN?

In an all female throw-down we have Season Four Champs, We are Heroes routine puts it all on the line with the first LLC that got a standing ovation from the judges. However, Fly Khicks is here to give them a fight with one of their smoothest and sexiest routines that they ever did. In this battle of female fury who will come out on top?

Legendary Hip Hop | New York City Breakers on Soul Train

On what is our third visit to Soul Train here on Legendary Hip Hop, this time we spotlight a bboy crew (who was featured in our last post alongside Rock Steady Crew).
New York City Breakers are again, pioneers of hip hop, who alongside Rock Steady Crew became some of the better known crews. Featuring members Chino "Action" Lopez, "Noel "Kid Nice" Mangual, "Matthew "Glide Master" Caban, Tony "Powerful Pexster" Lopez, Ray "Lil Rep" Ramos, Bobby "Flip Rock" Potts, Tony "Mr Wave" Draughon, and Alex "Lil Alex" Roman, this crew was originally known as the Floormasters. YAK-king it up across the country

YAK Films is a great source of dance video that is oftentimes the source of some of the great videos and coverage of hip hop dance events you see posted here. Today we're showcasing two different videos that showcase two different areas that they cover.

Phunk Phenomenon's off-stage video view of ABDC & the other crews: practice, battles, fun

KassandraRateau Youtube recently posted clips of Phunk Phenomenon's off-stage experience when they competed on America's Best Dance Crew Season 6. It includes views of the other crews including IaMmE, ICONic Boyz, Street Kingdom, Instant Noodles, and Eclectic Gentlemen. Among the scenes: a model airplane race, Bebo running through a fountain, playground antics, an attempt at rapping, a very strange rolling game, and the process of creating and practicing a routine for ABDC.

The ladies of We are Heroes have a fierce fight on their hands when they face Chicago's own FootworKINGz. Will their fire burn down the competition or will their flames be stomped out? Dynamic Edition hopes to clog onwards in the contest but will the Fly Khicks cut them down like they did earlier? Will we have another ho-down showdown in the next round? Vote and find out!

PREVIOUS ROUND RESULTS: Well it was bound to happen eventually but we have our first upset. In a fierce fight Static Noyze defeats Season Two champs Super Cr3w. On the other hand crowd favorites Instant Noodles handily defeats Femme 5. How will this bracket end now that the hopes of a b-boy vs b-boy showdown have been shattered? We will have to wait and see.
