Kaba Modern Interview Part I - How life has changed since ABDC
We interviewed Kaba Modern at a meet & greet at the Wuzzup Cafe in Bergenfield, NJ on April 5, 2009. Apologies for the sound quality -- the interview took place in a noisy restaurant. I am investing in a new camera system that will improve audio for future interviews.
In this first video, the Kaba Modern members (plus manager Arnel Calvario, minus Jia Huang) talk about how Kaba Modern started, their upcoming plans, and how life has changed for them since they appeared on America's Best Dance Crew. The interviewer for the first two questions Celina Joco, the fan who created the wonderful Kaba Modern poster.

Kaba Modern Meet & Greet Report Part I
Kaba Modern (the America's Best Dance Crew Season 1 favorites minus Jia Huang, who is on tour as a backup dancer for Britney Spears) showed up at the Wuzzup Cafe in Bergenfield New Jersey on April 5, to meet with fans too young to attend their nightclub show. Dozens showed up to meet the crew, talk to their favorites, and get some autographs. The crew members and their manager Arnel Calvario (also an awesome dancer and choreographer) good naturedly signed photos, posters, Tshirts, even the shirts on fan's backs. Afterwards, they sat down with us to answer some fan questions. Come back this weekend for the interview (having some technical difficulties -- sorry for the delay!).

Lourds of the Ring -- flexing vs. turfing
Wiretap Magazine reports on the Lourds of the Ring competition held earlier this year in Oakland. The competition features East Coast flexing (America's Best Dance Crew Season 3 Ringmaster's specialty) vs. West Coast turfing, as one of the few venues where the two styles mix and fight. The article presents the history and rivalry between the two styles, profiles dancers and runs a short video from the competition.

Our personal favorite: the highlights reel with views of the interviews, booths, and a lot of dancing.
