So Koopa's DOTD video last Thursday got me interested in the show that was being featured, so I went and did some research. It's a fairly interesting show that you guys might like. Apologies for any information that may be inaccurate - I got it from reading translated versions of the website found here: [danceahero.jp/]
Basically, Dance@Hero is a street dance show inspired by ABDC. The basic format is that ten crews compete over three rounds, and are numerically judged by their three judges on a variety of factors, including technical and artistic factors. The top five ranked crews per round receive 100, 80, 60, 40, and 20 "Hero Points" per round. In addition, the routines will be posted to Youtube, Facebook, and a Japanese version of Youtube called Nico Nico Douga. The top videos and the top fan pages for each crew will get 50, 40, 30, 20, and 10 "eb Points" added to their Hero Points, for a possible total of 300 HP and 150WP, or 450 Points total.
The crews had their first round of competition end on the 17th. The next two rounds will be on October 22nd and November 18th. As of right now, the rankings are as follows (click through on each link to the video)
100 points: Time Machine (featuring U-Min)
80 points: Twiggz Family (Japanese Branch of ABDC6 crew Street Kingdom)
60 points: Vigorous Ladies
40 points: Beat Buddy Boi
20 points: Melange
0 points: Area Rock Styler; Knuckle Bear; Saturday Player; Team Black Starz; Victoria
This looks like some legitimate talent that could definitely give crews on ABDC a run for their money. Let us know what you think about them in the comments below! You can subscribe to get updated to each round of videos at the Youtube channel (and help your favorite crew win) at [DANCEHEROjp]
