Video: Strikers All-Stars give back -- workshops for kids during their tour

 While on tour in Arkansas, Strikers All-Stars (ABDC Season 3) taught workshops to kids 6-19 at Christie McNeil's dance studio in Jonesboro, according to Kait8.com.  

Peterson Thelisma taught students The Strikers dance routine. According to him, one of the best parts of their tour is to get to interact with the kids.  "Especially with kids, if you can get their attention, you can teach them just about anything."One of the main things I stress is education. We all came from a different background and we all ended up in college. It gives them a different view on education. Because kids often don't think parents are cool, but if they hear it from us to go to school and stay in class, they'll listen. So, that's been my message throughout this whole thing."

"Honey 2" not only features some of the more memorable dancers from America's Best Dance Crew, including Quest Crew, Beat Freaks, Fanny Pak, Strikers All-stars, and Super Cr3w.  It uses ABDC (called Battle Zone for the movie) as a plot device, with Mario Lopez as host. Video: "Mobbed" episode -- Nappytabs choreograph flash mob dance using hundreds of dancers including ABDC alums

The first episode of "Mobbed" on Fox focused on planning a flash mob wedding proposal. Howie Mandel works with Napoleon and Tabitha D'umo, over a thousand dancers (including members of Strikers All-Stars, Glenda from Fanny Pak, and other past ABDC competitors) to make an over-the-top dance to "Everlasting Love". Answers to ABDC Trivia Contest Week 5: Isaac (Heavy Impact) OR Jia Huang (Kaba Modern) and...

Thanks to all of you who entered Week 5 of our ABDC Trivia contest. Despite our efforts to get a question with only one answer, there are two that are totally correct, and one other that I will give credit for. The question was: What ABDC contestant performed in a popular video that was used for another crew's "Music Video Challenge"? 
 
I used quotations to try and make it clear that the name of the challenge was the "Music Video Challenge" and not just a challenge that incorporated videos. The only time the week's contest was called "Music Video Challenge" occurred during Week 2 of Season 5.  For that challenge:

•  Static Noyze performed "New in Town" by Little Boot The original video included Isaac Tualaulelei from Heavy Impact as one of the dancers
• Hype 5-0 performed "1 2 3" by Britney Spears. The original video featured Jia Huang of Kaba Modern. 

In addition, because my instructions were not sufficiently clear, I am also giving credit to the 4 people who answered JabbaWockeeZ, since ABDC 1 Champions performed in the Daddy Yankee "Pose" video that Strikers All Stars danced to in season 3. Twenty answers were given full credit this week, with 5 weeks left to go. I'll have a new question up tomorrow.

Video: Brandon's promo for an imaginary ABDC All-Star Season

Since the producers of America's Best Dance Crew still haven't announced their intentions for Season 6, Brandon took the matter into his own hands. He created a promo video for an All-star season 6, with 10 crews returning to compete: Fysh N Chicks, Kaba Modern, A.S.I.I.D., Fanny Pak, Strikers All-stars, Fly Khicks, Beat Freaks, Afroborike, Saltare, and Blueprint Cru. America's Got Talent: Hip Hop Dance Crews in the Semi-Finals

Though Strikers All-stars left the America's Got Talent competition this week, three hip hop groups remain on the show: Future Funk (audition performance), Haspop (audition performance and Top 48 performance), and Studio One Young Beast Society (audition).

Video: Strikers All-Stars on Quarter-finals on America's Got Talent

Strikers All-Stars were the last of the 48 quarter-finalist acts to perform on this season's America's Got Talent. It will be announced tonight whether they move on to the semi-finals. BTW: the last slot on a competitive show like AGT is often referred to as the 'pimp slot' since the producers pick an act that audience will stay tuned in to watch and will get people to watch the following TV show. In this case, I guess that makes Strikers All-Stars the 'ultimate pimps!' Not a bad distinction in this case. Thanks for the tip, Ninjaboi!

Videos from Last Night's SYTYCD: 2 Nappyabs hip hop routines, Tally (Strikers) helps teach stepping

So You Think You Can Dance seems to be showing more hip hop than usual this season, possibly because three of their All-stars are hip hop specialists. On the July 21 show, Napoleon and Tabitha D'umo choreographed a hip Western showdown for Twitch and Lauren, as well as a lyrical hip hop piece for Adechike and Comfort. Also, Kent Boyd and Twitch did a stepping routine; Tallie Brinson of Strikers Allstars (America's Best Dance Crew Season 3) assisted choreographer Chuck Maldonado with the routine -- click here for this performance that unfortunately shows only a second of Tallie in the audience. • Help support youth programs in the San Francisco area! The Know Your Rank crew (affiliated with Supreme Soul, Academy of Villains and involved in helping out youth in the Bay area) has 2 fundraisers this week -- a spaghetti dinner on July 17 and a car wash on July 18. 
• Unfortunately, Ringmasters has been taken from the current America's Got Talent Competition. Strikers All Stars and Wreckless Crew are still in the top 48 as is a group of 10-13 year olds called RNG (shown below) who won the U.S. Junior Division at 2009 Hip Hop International. Strikers All-Stars (America's Best Dance Crew Season 3) are the latest crew to try to make their mark on America's Got Talent. They danced (as Strykers All Stars) on the June 29 episode and made it to the Las Vegas round.
