The article also cites American Idol, America's Got Talent, Project Runway, So You Think You Can Dance, and other reality shows to support its thesis. What do you think? IMO -- based on first hand observation and coverage of ABDC's audition process since Season 2, as well as some insider knowledge about other competitive reality shows -- New York Magazine may be running out of columnists who adequately understand their subject matter.

Did ABDC run out of talent for Season 5?
New York Magazine's Intelligencer column runs an article musing that reality shows have run out of talent. It cites America's Best Dance Crew twice as evidence:"Maybe the telltale moment came when, last month, MTV’s reliably entertaining reality contest America’s Best Dance Crew trotted out a crew that had failed to make the show in all four of the previous seasons...This season, not only did we see the crew of former also-rans, but another crew featured members who’d been bounced in Season One, while yet another has been imported from—gasp—Canada."
