Byeynyn's review of ABDC6's Lil Wayne Challenge
You
have no idea how much I’ve missed this show, probably because you don’t know
who I am. But after a whole year, I’m pumped for Season Six. I’m so pumped that
I’m going to provide my own recap of the episodes.
But
let me get a few issues out of the way. I’m skeptical about this season’s music
selection, and the challenges have gotten more ridiculous since the first
season, and needlessly so. I suspect that a lot of these crews might be held
back by both this season. Can you imagine krumping to Justin Bieber, or while
performing a magic trick? I feel it’s like judging Paul McCartney based on how
well he sings “Friday.” Second, D-Trix is the third judge who replaces Omarion
(whom I do not miss). Despite his horn-dog tendencies, at least Shane Sparks
provided the credibility of an articulate hip-hop choreographer, a unique perspective that won’t be offered by JC
(not hip-hop), D-Trix (not a choreographer), or Lil Mama (not articulate).
D-Trix does a passable job for now, but that void is still hard to fill.
Click here to read the rest of the review. Thanks, Byenyn!

Exclusive Video: Omarion talks about which crews he WANTED to see battle in the finale!
We JUST retrieved a few more interviews from America's Best Dance Crew Season 5's Finale, and will post them in the next few days. Here's our talk with ABDC Judge Omarion, where he describes the battle he would have liked to have seen in the finale, his views on whether the fans vote 'right', how he characterizes his own dance style, whether he's planning to return for another ABDC season, and more. Note: I make a quick appearance on this interview to talk to Omarion about our ABDC Madness competition. My voice is not usually that high -- I was hoarse from all the shouting and noise on the finale red carpet!

Preview from the Pressbox - Cris Turnson on ABDC5's Hip Hop Nation/Last Chance Challenge
Hi guys, this was the best week ever. I know I keep saying that but I mean it this week. The press didn't get to do any backstage interviews before the show this week because they were busy fireproofing the stage. If you think you've seen fire on ABDC before, wait until you see what they have planned this week.
The press also had trouble getting through because of the protests from Canadian separatist people, Hawaii for the people protesters, and the people who heard that Americas Best Dance Crew is going to ban Asians in the future. It's not true, I don't think.
Things to watch for:
- Omarion and JC argue over whether the girls in Hype or Blueprint is hotter and if that should matter because they need some hot girls in the Finale
- Poreotix does tutting
- The hot girls who sit behind Mario start fighting just before the elimination because 3 of them are wearing the same dress
- Legendary 7 gets an unexpected wildcard and competes in the Last Chance Challenge

ABDC March Madness begins! Round One: Lil Mama quotes
ABDC March Madness (aka the Big Boy Challenge) begins today! Ladies (and Voice of the Young People) up first. Vote for your favorite between these two memorable Lil Mama moments.
Rules and Explanation: Each day for the next few weeks you get to vote between 2 memorable quotes from the America's Best Dance Crew judges. Each survey will be open until Noon NY time the next day. Then, NCAA style, we'll narrow it down until there's a final battle for the most memorable quote. Based on reader nominations, we've picked 32 quotes and catchphrases: 8 from Lil Mama, 8 from JC Chasez, and 4 each from Omarion and Shane Sparks. Your votes will choose the best quote from each judge, then we'll pit judge-against-judge until the end. By the ABDC5 finale, we will reach the semi-finals round and will try to interview the judges on their best quotes, their judging/phrasing strategy, and their feelings about the competition.
