The preliminary rounds for the United States groups were held on Sunday August 4, and there were strong showings from some alumni of America's Best Dance Crew, including Mix'd Elements - #1 in the adult division); Academy of Hype (family of Hype 5-0) and Phunk Phenomenon - #2 and 3 in the Megacrew Division; RNG - #3 in the Varsity Division; and ICONIC (group that once included ICONic Boyz) - #4 in the Juniors.
