Hip Hop Lives Blog retrieved a 1997 interview with Massive Monkees that was originally published in Oneso Magazine. This one is for the die-hard Massive Monkees fan, going into how they formed from two crews (Untouchable Style Monkees and Massive), their years on the bboy scene, the problems, with travelling, and what they'd be doing if they weren't dancing.
In the article, they deride You Got Served” and “Kicking It Old School" and other current mainstream bboy depictions since it "makes b-boying out to be a joke. They’re definitely trying to make it like another fad, like this is just another fad that’s gonna go out the door." Their conclusion: "B-boying’s more than just tricks, more than shows and competition. It’s a whole lifestyle."
