Compassion Philippines was a workshop held in December 2013 to benefit victims of the recent typhoon in the Philippines. From the description: "From San Diego all the way to Boston, this workshop gathered some of the community's best choreographers to make an online "flashmob" to one song. Upon completion of teaching their choreography, the choreographers blocked each piece and filmed it. These clips have all been compiled into one video with hopes to raise awareness and encourage those who see it to donate to the typhoon victims in whatever way possible." Video: Dashaun Wesley (Vogue Evolution) and Candy Boyz vogue on the New York Subway

Dashaun Wesley (member of ABDC's Vogue Evolution) is now leading a group called Candy Boyz.  They proved that there are actually some subway performers who are worth watching. According to a story in the Huffington Post, “We decided to make ‘CANDY BOYZ’ because making fun of ‘subway candy sellers’ is probably one of the longest running jokes in our 12 year friendship.”We wanted to put our own spin on it. We also wanted to show how comfortable we were in our own skin and doing our own thing in front of millions of people". They are also creating a monthly internet comedy show called Black Gay University - here's the first episode

Chachi Gonzales (IaMmE) sued over rights to market Chachimomma pants

According to M Live, Chachi Gonzalez (member of ABDC's IaMmE) is being sued by Infusion Marketing over an exclusive license to market Chachimomma pants.  According to the suit, Chachi's family broke their agreement and started selling competing lines while locking the marketing company out of the Chachimomma website. Chachi argues that she never signed the contract, but that her signature was forged by her mother, she received no money and is not under the jurisdiction of the Michigan courts. 

The article states that Kent County Circuit Court Judge Christopher Yates wrote in his opinion order that "Infusion presented enough evidence to allow the case to move forward, but cautioned that the company would be "hard pressed" to advance any legal claims if it is determined that Gonzales did not, in fact, sign the licensing agreement with Infusion."

The latest video made to support #CokeRED raise money for HIV victims was created by DanceOn with Dominic 'D-trix' Sandoval (one-time member of ABDC's Quest Crew), Kyle Hanogami, Sean Lew, Saleemah Knight, Smiletone, Anze Skrube, Maxine Hupy (from Cee Lo Green's tour) and dancer/choreographer Tim Milgram.

Jabbawockeez (ABDC Season 1 winners) are the latest to post a video for the MOVEment. For every video uploaded which contains the hashtag #cokeRED, Coca-Cola and (RED) contribute funds to The Global Fund, providing funds for medicine for HIV victims in third world countries.

Videos: Esosa (Blogging Best Dance Crew reader) in TWO World of Dance groups

Esosa, a long-time member of the Blogging Best Dance Crew community, has also been a long-time member of the dance community. He is part of two different groups that recently performed at World of Dance events.

First, he's the director of The Neighbors, which came in third in their first-ever appearance at World of Dance New Jersey.

WoD Boston Results | Congrats to Gossip!

Two weeks ago was the World of Dance: Boston and here are the results.  In first place (and crowd favorite) was Gossip.  In second place, Static Noyze. And Concept Artists in third. Coca-Cola and (RED) posted a dance video starring Harry Shum, Jr., Jabbawockeez (ABDC's Season 1 winners), Les Twins, Brian Puspos and Ian Eastwood (members of ABDC's Mos Wanted Crew), 8 Flavahz,  Tiny Miney, and Jasmine Meakin, to harness the power of dance and inspire people to participate in a global dance movement with the goal of helping end mother-to-child transmission of HIV by 2015. Every day, 700 babies are born with HIV. By supporting programs that offer prevention, treatment, counseling, HIV testing and care services for pregnant women, that number can be near zero.

To help inspire people to show their moves, Shum and Jabbawockeez developed an easy-to-follow dance that anyone can learn that is featured in the music video. Consumers can visit www.CokeREDMoves.com to download a free clip of the Celebrate remix, view a tutorial for the dance move and find instructions on how to upload a dance video and to learn more about how their moves could help support this important cause.

So i decided one day to just make a 2 hour workshop filled with fun and knowledge for all the broke dancers out in LA lol. It was fun and impactful and i appreciate all those who came out and shared their MONEY!!!!! muahahahaha. 2 dollars is all it was. WoD Toronto Results | Congrats to D CODE & All.Young.All.Stars!

Last weekend was the World of Dance: Toronto and here are the results.  Congratulations to D CODE for taking first place in the Upper Division- followed by YYZ Company in second and THE CLIQUE in third.  But the highlight of the night (in my opinion) was in the Junior Division as the brilliant girls of All.Young.All.Stars went home with the first place trophy- followed by The Interns in second and CDF in third.  I personally LOVE the routine from the All.Young.All.Stars!  I could watch it over and over again.  Check out World of Dance Network YouTube for more great performances from this night.

We haven't seen much of Lil Mama (judge on ABDC) since the MTV show was cancelled. Tonight, she's back on TV, but in a dramatic role. She plays Left Eye Lopes in a biopic about TLC called CrazySexyCool that airs on VH1 at 9pm ET/PT. Here's a trailer for the movie:
