Although I don't watch sports at all (unless you count wrestling), but other than the Pacquiao knockout :::sigh:::, this video here is receiving a lot of attention and has gone viral.  It's a young Buc dancing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders at a halftime show.  In front of such a large crowd, this kid nails it with the choreo.

A Facebook 'must-join group' for hip hop dance fans: HipHop Dance Event Postings

There's a new source for postings about upcoming hiphop events -- Step X Step Dance created a group for Hip Hop Dance Events. Their goal is "to get dancers out in the community and give the community options to get involved around the world in street dance (Hip-Hop) events." This is a service much needed to keep the dance community connected and vibrant.

Video: Congratulations to Vagabondz -- winners of 2012 Braun Battle of the Year

In Montpellier France, 19 of the world's best b-boy crews faced-off on November 17, 2012 in the world championship of breakdancing, the Braun Battle of the Year (BOTY).

After an epic night of b-boy action French crew Vagabonds were crowned the 2012 Braun Battle of the Year champions for the second year in a row after an electric battle against Flooriorz of Japan. Vagabonds secured their victory with another signature display of incredible power moves, fast and furious footwork and choreographed routines that left the crowd whooping in delight.  Judge Niek Traa, said afterwards: "It's well deserved. You could see the difference in the quality of their show. It really stood out. And they didn't make any mistakes in the final battle."

MTV has cancelled America's Best Dance Crew

It's official. Variety reports that MTV will not renew America's Best Dance Crew again. MTV said: "We are grateful to Randy Jackson and Warner Horizon for having brought our audience seven amazing seasons of dance with 'ABDC,' and look forward to more successful and dynamic entertaining collaborations in the future."

This website will continue covering ABDC alums for awhile, for their fans who admire their continued work and to provide the dancing fix that many of us came to expect and await each week.

Mario Lopez to host The X Factor

This doesn't have anything to do with dance, but it was just announced that the host of America's Best Dance Crew, Mario Lopez, along with Khloe Kardashian Odom will host the second season of The X Factor which airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8pm.  The show starts next month.  Congrats Mario!

Redbull BC One Finalists -- with slo-mo video of Roxrite's 'melting halo' move

Red Bull announced the finalists for the Red Bull BC One World Finals that will take place on December 8th in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil! The line up includes four bboys from the United States including reigning world champion Roxrite (San Diego, CA) as he returns to defend his title, North American regional qualifier champion DomKey (Philadelphia), ViciousVictor (Orlando, FL) and Kid David (San Francisco, CA). Other finalists include Lil Zoo (Morocco),Mounir (France),Junior (France), Shorty Force (South Korea),Slav (Bulgaria),Arex (Colombia), Sunni (UK),Alkolil (Russia), Differ (South Korea),Issei (Japan), and Hill (Mexico). 

The finals will be held in Rio de Janeiro on December 8, 2012. The live broadcast will be viewable on redbullbcone.com.

Major new chance for East Coast dancers: Funkanometry NY auditions October 21

Funkanometry is expanding past its West Coast roots.  On October 21, they are holding auditions to create a new company in New York, to be directed by Fr3sh's Leslie Hubilla and Michael Estaban.

They are looking for talented dancers, but they're also looking for "for more than just that — we’re looking for leaders, mentors, and teachers that want to help build something exciting and innovative for our scene…for our dance.e’re looking for people who believe in this collective vision, who believe in Funkanometry, and who want to serve our community and our youth."
